JOINING SPARTA
Why join?
For just £2 a month, SPARTA members can benefit from:

grants for affiliated clubs towards running costs and equipment

financial support for teams/individuals to participate in national/international sporting competitions.

a departmental sports day.

we will continue to pursue other benefits for our members, including discounts and tickets to sporting events
Membership is open to all staff, former staff, and their families.
Levels of Membership

Full Membership – open to everyone employed by the MHCLG/DfT (including the related executive agencies and non-departmental government bodies).

Associate membership, level 1 – open to anyone who has been previously employed by the department or its forerunners but has relocated due to transfer or departmental reorganisation

Associate membership, level 2 – open to the immediate family of members in the above categories or any individual not otherwise eligible, subject to the written agreement of the General Secretary

Honorary life membership may be granted to retired former members who are deemed to have performed a special service to the Association
-
Temporary or casual staff may apply for associated membership which shall be granted at the discretion of the general management committee.
Cost of membership

Full Membership – £2.00 per month deducted direct from salary

Associate membership – £24 per year to be paid in full
Some clubs charge a separate additional membership fee. Details of this can be obtained from the club contact.
Membership status
Retired members keep the membership status held on their retirement with the exception of those subsequently granted honorary life membership.
