TENPIN BOWLING

Don’t worry – help is at hand! You can find out about all these, and have a good time too, through the SPARTA Tenpin Bowling Club.

​

The club plays at the AMF Bowl at Lewisham – close to the mainline station and very convenient for Victoria/Waterloo East and Charing Cross.

​

We’re a small, friendly club, comprising bowlers with a wide range of abilities. Some of us are actually rather good, winning competitions like the Corporate Games and the Civil Service Tournament. And the rest of us play for fun, though we do all have the competitive spirit. We play on Wednesday evenings from 7.30pm-9pm.

​

Our main league runs from September to May, with teams of two players each. We also have a summer league (depending on numbers), as well as cup competitions, with many of us also participating in charity events.

​

The club is always on the lookout for new members, whether to play on a regular basis or as reserves when the regulars are away.

​

Handicaps are given in our league matches to balance out the play of the better bowlers, and put everyone on an equal footing. And those better bowlers are always happy to give coaching tips to newcomers.
